While you may think the home inspection is a standard product, nothing could be further from reality. Inspectors vary greatly by education. background, training, and work effort. Some inspectors work for themselves, and some work for others getting 1/3 the fee you pay. They need to rush thru your inspection to make a days wage. I literally spend all day on one inspection, between the inspection, and report writing and reviewing the report for content. My reports have good summary page with a time line of what work will be needed. And mostly I am a graduate Civil Engineer, with a degree from the best engineering school in the country, Cooper Union, with 41 years of experience in the home inspection field, I have done over 4100 inspections. Call me to discuss.
